What Lynnée Denise hears carries meaning. Through her performance, she passes it on to us, instructing us on her new and bold listening practice, which she calls Turntable Epistemology. The stage is transformed into a lively and dynamic classroom as Denise expresses her way of listening, which she has developed over the last three decades. The interdisciplinary practice is intertwined with memory, mapping, and method-making and rooted in Black geographical thought and cultural studies. We are bound to walk out of any room Denise performs in smarter, sharper, and wiser.LeGuessWho 2024, curated by Arooj Aftab.
